As part of its corporate social responsibility to society, the management of Ajayi Crowther University Oyo has completed the remodeled New Palace of Olosoogun on Osoogun land in the Iseyin Local Government of Oyo State.
The New Olosoogun Palace, which was commissioned by Aseyin of Iseyin Oba Sefiu Oyebola, had in attendance the Vice-chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Prof. Timothy Adebayo and other top management members of the institution
This is not the first time that Ajayi Crowther University Oyo, which is a first-class institution of the West, the Church of Nigeria, and the Anglican Communion, will be rendering support to the Osoogun community through corporate social responsibility.
The historic Osoogun is the hometown of the world evangelist and author, Samuel Ajayi Crowther, who was raided by Fulani warriors known as marauders and later sold to Portuguese slave traders at the age of twelve.
The completion of the remodeled New Palace of Olosoogun of Osoogun land by Ajayi Crowther University was a total demonstration of the university’s commitment to bringing much-needed development to the town.
The Vice Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University Oyo, Prof Timothy Adebayo said the completion of the Oloosogun Palace project was part of the institution’s corporate social responsibility to the society
In his sermon Bishop of Ajayi Crowther Diocese Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Collins Babalola emphasized the need for people to contribute their quota towards the development of their immediate society for the advancement of the country
Earlier in his welcome address, the National President of the Osoogun Community Association, Dr. Sola Ojenike, who appreciated the management of Ajayi Crowther University on behalf of Oloosogun of Osoogun Land, Chief Moses Olalere, also appealed to the Oyo State government for the construction of the only access road that links Osoogun community to other villages in the area.
Today some non-governmental organizations have been visiting Osoogun town under the Iseyin local government due to the concerted efforts by the management of Ajayi Crowther University Oyo to develop the town through corporate social responsibility
The event was graced by the Royal fathers, Traditional chiefs, Management of Ajayi Crowther University and sons and daughters of the Osoogun community.
