It was a carnival-like event as members and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party from all wards in Oluyole Local Government trooped out en masse at the Oluyole Federal Constituency Campaign ahead of the Saturday, April 27 council poll.
Among the stakeholders who graced the campaign were the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in Oyo State, Hon. Segun Olayiwola, his Environment and Natural Resources counterpart, Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, the Chairman of Pacesetter Transport Company, Dr. Ibrahim Salami Dikko, the Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Hon. Olaide Popoola Settle, and other notable government political appointees.
In his remarks, PDP State Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke emphasised the need for the people of Oluyole local government to vote for PDP chairmanship candidate, Engr. Akeem Olatunji for more developmental projects in the council area.
According to Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, if voted, Engr. Olatunji, as the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, will complement the Omituntun 2.0 agenda by putting smiles on the faces of the people of Oluyole Local Government.
While presenting the flag of the party to the Championship candidate, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon Olusegun Olayiwola, said a new dawn has come to Oluyole local government
He urged members to work harmoniously for the success of all PDP candidates in the Oluyole Federal Constituency.
Speaking shortly after receiving the flag, the Chairmanship Candidate of the PDP in Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, said the development of the Oluyole council area, will be given utmost priority if elected.
He appreciated the unflinching support given to him by traditional rulers, political stakeholders, and members of the PDP towards ensuring victory in the Saturday, April 27 polls.
Engr. Olatunji, who was the former state publicity secretary of the Oyo PDP, was unanimously elected to be the standard bearer of the party, in the April 27th local government election.
Mediareportsng.com reports that if elected, Hon. Olatunji is expected to take the mantle of leadership from the current Chairman in Oluyole Local Government, Hon Olaide Settle, if elected on April 27 council polls.
