A Mental Health Expert, Dr. Adeniyi Lawal has called for a comprehensive Mental Health Evaluation on some Oodua Nation Agitators who attempted to invade the Agodi Secretariat Complex, Ibadan.
Dr. Adeniyi made this known during a chat with mediareportsng on the recent attempted invasion of the Oyo State House of Assembly complex and other issues relating to security and peace of the state.
According to him, the action seems to be the symptoms of grandeur delusion and emotional segmental problem, hence the need for proper check of their mental health.
“That action taken by the Oodua Nation Agitators has symptoms of grandeur delusion. Under this, they can do what they don’t have the idea about. Agitators behave irrationally under the influence of drugs before taking an action.Any action taken under the influence of drugs will definitely be hyper active in their actions believing that there actions are in order due to their delusional feelings.
“Which Yoruba or Oodua Nation they do want? A Yoruba son is the President of the country and calling for Yoruba nation or anything at the critical stage of the country is uncalled for. Going to Agodi Secretariat on Saturday is as result of mental problems and drugs they believe in. What you don’t have power over, you don’t claim it,” Lawal said.
Dr. Lawal, who is the Head of Department General Studies, Oyo State College of Health Science advocated for proper mental health orientation for people to avoid emotional delusion and ensure mental balance of people.
