The Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Former Governor of Oyo State Senator Rashidi Ladoja,Iyaloja General of Nigeria Chief Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, President Maiyyeti Allah Alhaji Usman Dodo and other eminent personalities witnessed the official signing of Memorandum of Understanding between southwest Farmers and Maiyyeti Allah Castle Rearer Association.
The 2024 summit with the Sustainable Food production in southwest Nigeria:The way forward provided opportunity for relevant Stakeholders to proffer solutions to the problem confronting farmers in South West and Nigeria.
Representing the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari ,Mrs Olubukola Akeredolu urged farmers to make use of modern technology for sustainable food production.
Mrs Akeredolu said the zonal office of the ministry is available for consultation and training of farmers so as to enhance food productivity.
In his address the coordinator Southwest Commodities Farmers Organization Prince Olusegun Dasaolu said the summit was an eye opener towards finding a lasting solution to some challenges confronting farmers in the southwest states.
Prince Dasaolu explained that the Memorandum of Understanding sign with Maiyyeti Allah Cattle Rearer Association is a right step towards bridging the communication gap between the two Stakeholders.
Other Stakeholders who spoke at the event Including Iyaloja General of Nigeria Chief Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, President Maiyyeti Allah Castle Rearer Association Alhaji Usman Dodo,Business Mogul Alhaji Tunde Badmos calls for effective synergy among Stakeholders to ensure food productivity.
According to them, this initiative by the southwest Commodities Farmers Organization is a wake up call for government at all levels to see farmers as a critical Stakeholders towards reducing hunger in the country.
The summit also provided an opportunity for southwest Commodities Farmers Organization and Maiyyeti Allah Castle Rearer Association to sign Memorandum of Understanding which was witnessed by the former Governor of Oyo State Senator Rashidi Ladoja Iyaloja General of Nigeria Chief Folashade Tinubu-Ojo and other prominent Stakeholders in the sector.
The Summit was attended by traditional rulers,the members of southwest Commodities Farmers Organization and Stakeholders in Agricultural sector.
