Over 100 individuals have benefited from the free annual community eye care outreach, organized by the Self-reliance Economic Advancement Programme (SEAP), under the auspices of Dr. Oladokun Olatunde, conducted at Ayoola Modupe Olatunde Memorial Hospital Ltd., Bodija, Ibadan.
According to the organisers, this initiative is aimed at promoting eye health and providing accessible healthcare services to the community.
The free annual community eye care outreach, organized by SEAP under the leadership of Dr. Olatunde, at Ayoola Modupe Olatunde Memorial Hospital Ltd., Bodija, Ibadan, provided an opportunity for members of the community to receive essential eye care.
The outreach, which started about 7 years ago, aims to cater to the well-being of the less privileged in the community.
Under the guidance of the eye care team, patients underwent a series of thorough eye examinations, passing through different stages and meeting with a consultant to assess their conditions.
The leader of the medical team, Prof Feyisayo Adeopoju, reiterated SEAP’s commitment to providing accessible and affordable eyecare services to those in need.
Prof. Adepoju emphasised the need for people to take good care of their eyes by consulting hospitals for medical check-ups so as to avoid total loss of sight.
While speaking with some of the beneficiaries, they expressed their appreciation to Dr. Oladokun Olatunde and highlighted the support the initiative provided for their eye and vision health.
After consultations, some patients were also provided with prescription medications to address their eye health needs, while others were referred for further evaluation or surgery.
