Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG) and the Oyo State Government have partnered to establish a gas supply and distribution infrastructure to provide gas to industrial and commercial users in the state.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Media Relations Manager of Shell Nigeria, Abimbola Essien-Nelson, it was revealed that SNG will be responsible for the construction and operation of the gas distribution network, slated to serve customers across the entirety of Oyo State for 20 years.
Essien-Nelson noted that the project is not just about gas distribution but also driving industrial and economic development in Oyo State.
”It will commence with the development of gas distribution infrastructure along a 15-kilometre pipeline route, with plans for expansion to deliver up to 60 million standard cubic feet of gas per day throughout the state.
”This initiative is expected to significantly boost access to clean and reliable energy sources, thereby paving the way for a more prosperous future for Oyo State,” the statement affirmed.
It is anticipated that the successful implementation of the project will contribute to the overall socio-economic advancement of Oyo State while promoting a cleaner and more sustainable energy future for its residents.
