Pilgrims from Oyo State have returned safely to Nigeria from Saudi Arabia where they performed the 2024 holy pilgrimage to Islamic holy sites in Madinah and Makkah.
The pilgrims, who left Jeddah Airport landed safely at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in the early hour of Thursday.
Speaking on arrival, the Chairman, Oyo State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board, Sheik Hasim Atere thanked the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for his support which he noted was responsible for the success of this year’s hajj operations.
Some of the pilgrims who spoke with BCOS reporter Olalekan Sulaiman, expressed gratitude to Allah, and the State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board led by Sheik Hasim Atere for the successful spiritual trip.
Recall that the pilgrims left Nigeria for Saudi Arabia on Saturday 18th May, 2024 to partake in this year’s hajj exercise alongside over two million other Muslim faithful from Nigeria and some other countries of the world.
