Agbekoya Solidarity Movement of Nigeria Oyo State Chapter has honoured A Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party in Ido Local Government Dr Semiu Folarin for his outstanding contributions to the development of his immediate environment.
Dr Semiu Folarin who was honoured with the prestigious title of Jagunmolu of Agbekoya 1 also had in attendance dignitaries from far and near .
While receiving the title,the New Jagunmolu of Agbekoya 1 Dr Semiu Folarin said the honour will spur him to do more for the community and the movement towards ensuring a secured society.
According to him,the task of securing our society cannot be left in the hands of security agents alone but requires collective efforts of all and sundry.
” As a Yoruba man and lover of peace,I accept the Chieftaincy title of Jagunmolu of Agbekoya 1 as a way to contribute my quota to the advancement of Ibadanland and Oyo state. As a Chief in Agbekoya,I assure the movement of my continuous support towards ensuring a better society.”
” I appreciate the leadership of the Agbekoya Solidarity Movement of Nigeria for counting me worthy to be honoured with the prestigious Chieftaincy title of Jagunmolu Agbekoya 1. I will never take this honoured bestow on me for granted” Folarin said
In a chat with mediareportsng.com the Governor of Agbekoya Solidarity Movement of Nigeria in Oyo state Hammed Bankole Pabielesin said the programme is an annual event aimed at celebrating members and some Eminent personalities who had contributed positively to the movement.
Comrade Bankole charged governments and members of the public to continue to support the Agbekoya Solidarity Movement of Nigeria Oyo State in its quest to ensure a conducive and secured society.
