A musical producer, who also doubles as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Purified Entertainment Company Limited, Mr Agboola Babawale Segun has called on government at all levels in Nigeria to begin to sincerely engage the youths for an enviable productivity.

Mr Babawale Segun made this known on Saturday during a Stakeholders’ Meeting with Ibadan based On Air Personalities (OAPs), Studio Managers, Bloggers and some entertainment reporters in Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State.

Babawale who met with some notable Stakeholders in the industry at Charlton Gate Hotel Idi-Ape Ibadan noted that the crime rate in the world, especially in Nigeria have consistently increased owing to unemployment and poor economy in the country.

Babawale who engaged pressmen shortly after his meeting with entertainment stakeholders maintained that the just concluded ten-day planned nationwide protest gained momentum as many unengaged youths made it an advantage to take to the streets.

He said, “We all witnessed what happened in some parts of the northern states of the country during the just concluded nationwide protest #EndBadGovernance where some of our youth turned what supposed to be a peaceful protest to a looting spree, the protest in that part of the country also resulted in lost of lives and looting of government properties, issues like this need to be properly addressed to avoid future occurrences.

“It is high time our government wake up from their slumber by addressing series of challenges facing our youth, majority of them graduated without a good job, this issue of unemployment has affected a lot of our youths and government need to do something fast to address this before it’s too late.

Purified Entertainment CEO also charged all Governors of each state to set up a youth centered programmes for a sustainable socio-economic development of the country at large.

Babawale noted that such youth oriented programmes and youth friendly policies will really go along way in addressing youth restiveness, reduction of crime in the society, create more job opportunities among others, most especially at this critical time.

While reiterating the laudable programmes of Oyo State government under the administration of Engineer Seyi Makinde in the last five years, Agboola stressed that there is much expected of His Excellency to the youths in the state.

He further highlighted some major areas where government can be of help to the youths in the state such as mentorship, talent discovery in sporting activities, creative arts among others.

He said, “Our dear state can even generate more funds by supporting the youths and their ideas, creative industry alone if properly harness can boost the internal generated revenues of this state by hundred percent, so government need to tap into all these potentials, harness them and make good use of them for the betterment of our dear state and Nigeria as a whole.”

Babawale urged well meaning Nigerians to start supporting youth oriented programmes.

Meanwhile, the Ibadan born music Producer at the meeting pledged his commitment to continue nurturing the young up and coming artistes to the peak of their career, noting that all the new talents he recently signed under his record label are all doing well.

He seek for a robust working synergy between his record label company and the entertainment stakeholders in Oyo state, just as he also pledge to do all within his capacity to revive Oyo State lost glory in entertainment sector.

He said, “Though my office is situated in Lagos state, but I am a proud son of Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State, we all have this notion that Lagos is the entertainment heartbeat of Nigeria, there is no doubt about that, but Ibadan is the next city aside Lagos when we are talking about entertainment and creative industry in Nigeria today, I am ready to work with any stakeholders to ensure we actualize our set goals for Ibadan and Oyo State in general as far as entertainment is concerned in this country.
