The Oyo State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde has approved the recruitment of Agric Extension officers and Veterinary Doctors across the thirty-three local Governments of the state.
The governor also announced the setting up of model farming centers across the zones and purchase of motorcycles for Extension Officers for optimal delivery in the agric sector of the state.
Governor Makinde stated this while inaugurating the Oyo State Seed Coordinating Committee at an event held at House chiefs, the state House of Assembly Complex, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
Governor Seyi Makinde reiterated that his administration has empowered farmers through various beneficiary programmes under the Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAFER) which was aimed to cushion the effect of subsidy removal on petroleum products.
He also expressed optimism that the state Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development would work in synergy with the newly Inaugurated Seed Committee to improve economic growth and boost food production in the state.
In his goodwill message, the Chairman, Oyo State House committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, Honourable Peter Ojedokun, said the state government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that its anti grazing law is effective.
