OTU INDIGENES APPLAUD MAKINDE’S AIRSTRIPS SURVEILLANCE INITIATIVE BY KASEEM JENRADE

Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde has been commended for his commitment to improve the security architecture across Oke-Ogun area with the proposed airstrips surveillance patrol base in Otu and Igbeti, oke ogun area of Oyo State.

 

The executives of Otu Community Development Union, led by its President, Chief Johnson Bayo Kehinde made the commendation on behalf of Otu indigenes home and abroad.

 

In a release jointly issued by the executives of the union, a copy of which was made available to newsmen, the National President, Chief Johnson Bayo Kehinde, the Chairman,Hon. Paul Lere Ajayi,the National Secretary,Hon. Oladosu Yekeen.O and the Director of Communication of the union, Hon Akinwumi Akinfenwa, noted that the initiative will in no small measure nip in the bud criminal activities in the area.

 

They stressed that the initiative will address nefarious activities of illegal miners,farm encroachment and kidnapping, among others in the oke ogun area of Oyo State.

 

Recall that Governor Makinde during the passing out parade of 480 new Amotekun forest rangers, disclosed his administration’s determination to establish two airstrips in Otu and Igbeti town in order to boost security architecture across oke ogun area.

 

According to Otu Community Development Union leaders,the proposed airstrips will not only improve the security of lives and properties of the people,but will also serve as tourists attraction and lure investors to the area to tap from both human and natural resources that abound in the land.

 

They also described the initiative as a testament to the visionary leadership of Governor Makinde and his commitment to infrastructural and economic advancement of Oke-Ogun area and Oyo State at large.

 

In their views, the gesture is nothing but a rare privilege and honour to the people of Otu, which will bring about immense benefits to the people and open up the area to several economic and social development opportunities.

 

The Executives of OTU Community Development Union however implore the state governor to ensure that those responsible for bringing the proposed project into fruition are diligent and commence the project promptly.

They reiterated that the timely actualisation of the project will undoubtedly contribute to the long awaited transformation of Otu town and also contribute immensely to the overall development of Oke-Ogun area.

While saluting the foresight of the state governor towards good governance in Oyo State, the Otu stakeholders pledged their unwavering support to the present administration towards building a better future for all the citizens of Oyo State.

They also called for the unity and harmonious relationship among the people of Otu, emphasizing that the vision of governor Seyi Makinde will in no doubt bring unprecedented development and rapid transformation to the town .
