The National Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ Oyo State Chapter has commenced its Week with Thanksgiving service
The thanksgiving service held at Oritamefa Baptist Church Ibadan was part of activities lined up for Oyo NAWOJ Week 2024.
While Dwelling on the Topic tagged “When God Decides to Transform a Home,” The Guest Preacher Reverend Mike Babatunde who delivered his message from Peter 3 verses 1-7, emphasizing that God’s transformative work in a family often begins with a change in attitudes and character.
The cleric added that the woman is seen as a foundational influence in the home, with God’s word working through her as a starting point for broader transformation within the family.
Reverend Babatunde also charged Women in the society to continue to be the agent of positive change and desist from any act that is capable of tarnishing the Womanhood.
Also the Pastor in Charge of Oritamefa Baptist Church Ibadan Reverend Diran Adeleke lauded NAWOJIANS in the state for starting their week by giving gratitude to God for his faithfulness.
The Cleric also stressed the need for christians to always give thanks to God irrespective of any challenges confronting them in life.
In his remarks,the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists Oyo State council Comrade Ademola Babalola congratulates Oyo NAWOJ led by Comrade Omolola Alamu for their laudable programmes since her assumption into office.
The Number Journalist in the state also promised continuous support for NAWOJIANS for the advancement of the pen profession.
In her address at the thanksgiving service,the NAWOJ State Chairman Comrade Omolola Alamu appreciated the members and Stakeholders for their support towards ensuring a better life for NAWOJIANS in the state.
Mrs Alamu said Nawoj under his watch will continue to embark on lofty programmes aimed at empowering women in the society.
The Church thanksgiving service also had in attendance some NUJ and NAWOJ Stakeholders including Former Zonal Director of FRCN ,Mrs Bolatito Joseph,Former Oyo NAWOJ Chairperson Mrs Adekiitan Adeagbo, NUJ State Secretary Comrade Sola Oladapo, State NUJ Treasurer, Comrade Akeem Abass and Correspondence Chapel Chairman Comrade Adebayo Raji
