As part of measures targeted at improving healthcare access for residents, Oluyole Local Government Area (LGA) has partnered with a Health Foundation; The Samaritans Heart for Humanity Foundation, to host a free medical outreach.
The one-day medical outreach which also include collaboration with Compassionate For The Aged Foundation and Salvation Initiative For The Vulnerable aims to provide free consultation, diagnostic services, and cataracts surgery for the people of Oluyole LG.
The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji disclosed this in a statement on Thursday morning (today).
According to the council chairman, the one-day event, which will hold at the Oluyole LGA Secretariat, Idi-Ayunre on November 8 is expected to particularly attract the vulnerable and aged members of the council.
He added that individuals who may require cataract surgery after the free diagnostic services will undergo free removal procedures.
Olatunji described the initiative as a critical and important health intervention for the people of Oluyole LG who are suffering from impaired vision.
He emphasized the importance of community-driven healthcare initiatives targeted at providing free and qualitative healthcare services for the vulnerable members of the society in line with the vision of governor Seyi Makinde.
“The partnership with these Foundations on this outreach is in line with our commitment to improving the health and well-being of our people especially at the grassroots.
“We are particularly focused on offering eye care services on this particular outreach, as we know how crucial vision is to the quality of life of our people especially, the elderly.” Olatunji said.
