Members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP,Oyo North Senatorial Zone have been charged to see themselves as one indivisible entity and remain committed to the overall success of the party in the future elections.
The admonition was part of the resolutions made by PDP leaders who converged on Saki town hall for it’s maiden Senatorial meeting.
The epoch event held under the auspices of the State Deputy Governor, Barr Bayo Lawal, also had in attendance several party bigwigs including Dr Saka Balogun, Former Deputy Governor Engr Ahmed Gbadamosi, Former State Party Chairman Chief Omokunmi Mustapha, Member; Federal House of Representatives Hon Oyesina Oyedeji Oshine, the Odofin of Saki land Chief Isaac Koleosho, Chief Michael Adegbite, Chief JD Adetoro, Senator Andrew Gbenga Babalola and Chairman Oyo North Senatorial Zone Alhaji Yinusa Adekunle Yusuf among others.
While speaking after series of deliberations by members on the situation reports of the party at various local councils, the deputy governor Barr Bayo Lawal noted that the situation reports stated across the council areas did not depict the true pictures of the party positions.
He stressed that the views of party members across the 13 councils under Oyo North Senatorial District will be seriously looked into through the constituted committee set up.
Barr Bayo Lawal therefore admonished aggrieved members to sheath their swords and work assiduously for the overall development of the party.
The state deputy governor used the occasion to explain certain developmental programmes, activities and policies of the state government geared towards making life meaningful for its members.
Earlier in their separate remarks, Dr Saka Balogun, Chief Omokunmi Mustapha,Engr Ahmed Gbadamosi,Hon Oyesina Oyedeji Oshine and others, urged PDP members to shun sentiments for the success of the party.
The PDP Senatorial Chairman Oyo North, Alhaji Yinusa Adekunle Yusuf said the meeting was convened to reposition the party.
According to him, the senatorial meeting was basically designed as the aftermath of the 2023 elections and also to feel the pulse of the aggrieved members who believed that they have been sidelined in the political appointments and key positions .
He urged aggrieved members to believe in the resolution of the party in which the deputy governor instantly approved the setting up of a fact finding committee to examine the cases of aggrieved members and preferred solutions.
He therefore admonished members to see the party as one and queue behind Governor Makinde as the party leader.
The meeting was also attended by PDP executives, members; state house of assembly, local government chairmen across the zone,SAs, Youth and women leaders and large gathering of PDP members.
