All alumni of Comprehensive High School,Ori Ooko,Irawo, Atisbo local government have been charged to be responsive and be committed to the advancement of their alma mater with a view and to rebranding the school to meet up to the modern standards.
The remark was part of the submissions of the eminent personalities who converged on Ori Ooko field to celebrate the Sapphire Anniversary of the school, with reunion of old students and launching of 250 million naira development fund.
In their separate remarks,Dr YY Oyedemi Muslim, of the Polytechnic Ibadan, who was the guest speaker at the occasion, the Chairman, Planning Committee; Mr Mathew Opoola Kehinde, First Senior Prefect CHS Irawo Pastor Jonah Ademola Okanlawon and the National President, CHS old students association, Chief Mallami Adekunle Kayode, noted that old students association plays vital roles in the educational advancement of schools in which their tremendous contributions cannot be over emphasized.
They stressed that the efforts of old students compliment government’s work and serves as leaning hands in the provision of essential facilities to the schools.
Dr Y.Y Oyedemi Muslim, while calling for community participation in the educational development,he explained the importance of artificial intelligence and the use of ICT and appealed to parents to equip their children with sound education.
Mallami Adekunle Kayode, Pastor Jonah Ademola Okanlawon and Mr Mathew Opoola Kehinde in their views urged stakeholders in education sector to provide enabling environment for young ones to excel.
They called for a systemic approach and functional procedure in educational sector like that of advanced country.
The epoch event, held under the auspices of the Ajoriwin of Irawo land His Majesty Oba Dr Musliudeen Ademola Asaju 1 and a former Oyo State Head of Service, Chief Mrs Hannah Ogunesan, featured the presentation of meritorious awards in recognition of outstanding performances of the products of the institution and the significant contributions of Irawo elders both living and those who have passed on.
The event also featured enigma of political class, captains of industries and makers and shakers of the world who are products of comprehensive high school Irawo since 1979 till date.
In their goodwill messages, SA to Oyo State Government on Legislative Matters, Chief Samuel Adejumobi Agbarapo represented by Mr Adeleke Francis,Hon Tajudeen Abisodun Were ably represented by Alhaji Sabitu Olofa ,Senator Fatal Buhari represented by Mr Azeez Jimoh Adeniji aka J West among others.
While presenting donations sent by their various leaders admonished the committee in charge to judiciously used the money for the purpose meant for.
They also promised the association of the unalloyed support of their bosses for the educational development of Irawo land at large.
Two of the products of the institution, Alhaja Sefiat Ambass and Alhaja Milliat Oluwaseun Abdul azeez while speaking, could not hide their joy for the positive impact the school, comprehensive high school Irawo land brought to their lives.
They stressed that the school has meaningfully transformed them and equipped them to triumph attain enviable heights in their chosen careers.
