It was a carnival-like event as a former Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Joshua Kolade Olagunju was officially welcomed into the Peoples’ Democratic Party by the state executives of the party led by the Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke.
Alhaji Adeleke while welcoming Hon Olagunju and his numerous followers back to PDP said the party will continue to receive more defectors due to the good governance under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde in the state.
He urged the defectors led by Hon Olagunju to work collectively with the members and Stakeholders for the progress of PDP in Akinyele Local Government and Oyo State.
In her address, the former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu appreciated Governor Makinde for creating a conducive environment for the PDP to thrive in the state.
Senator Sunmonu described Hon. Olagunju as a team player and lover of development, adding that he will contribute positively to the progress of PDP in Akinyele Local Government.
While receiving the PDP flag, Hon Kolade Olagunju expressed his appreciation to stakeholders and members of the party for the love shown to him.
Hon Olagunju who is a seasoned broadcaster and entrepreneur said he will use his vast experience in politics and entrepreneurship to add more value to the lives of people through many developmental programmes.
” I sincerely thank all stakeholders of our party in Akinyele Local Government from Ward 1 to 12 and most importantly the state executive led by Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, former Speaker of Oyo 7th Assembly, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu and other political stakeholders for honouring and identifying with me.
“My quest to realign with People Democratic Party is for service to the people and for the betterment of Akinyele local government. I will continue to do my best to make life more meaningful for the people,” Hon Kolade said.
