Prince Megida, who appealed to Governor Ademola Adeleke to increase the tempo of development in Ikirun; also stressed the need for whoever that becomes the next chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, to cooperate with the NIPU, as unity of purpose plays a significant role in the development of any society. He however, admonished politicians to put Ikirun first while in or out of government, and should not allow politicking to slow down the development of their hometown.

Earlier in his Welcome Address, the national President of NIPU, Dr Mustafa Olawuyi, who appreciated all Ikirun indigenes who have played and are still playing significant roles in the current crops of development being witnessed in Ikirun; emphasized the need to collectively rid the town of criminal elements, with the cooperation of all the security agencies, including the recently inaugurated Ikirun Security Joint Taskforce, IKJTF.
