…..Ready to Reach Out to Oyo, Ogbomoso Zones
A socio -political organization; Egbe Ajosepo Fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa, comprising leaders of thought across Oke- Ogun and Ibarapa zones have pledged its readiness and unwaivering commitment of ensuring that a capable individual from their zones emerge as a governor in 2027.
Members of the Egbe Ajosepo Fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa, under the Chairmanship of Engr Dauda Olaifa, Secretary Pastor Favour Adewoyin, Association Adviser Mr Oladejo Ajuwon and the youth leader Dr Jonathan Ojedokun, disclosed this at a media parley, held in Iseyin to create awareness about the objectives of the association.
The executives of Egbe Ajosepo Fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa, with the slogan ‘O to ge,awa lokan,’ at the press conference stated that the association, is non partisan and has no religion affiliation, saying it was established to address the issues of inequality and injustice being experienced from a particular region of the state.
The synergy according to the representatives of the forum is between oke ogun and Ibarapa zones in which leaders from oyo zone have been contacted on the matter as ogbomoso leaders will soon be informed about the development.
They stressed that for over 25 years, Ibadan zone alone has been dominating and controlling the affairs of Oyo State, hence the need to call for power shift through rotation of governorship seat to other zones especially oke ogun zone as 2027 election is fast approaching.
The Association in a release, noted that from 1999 till date, Oyo State politics has been producing its governors mostly from Ibadan alone, except for once when it went to Ogbomoso by chance, hence the need to change the narrative for the benefit of other zones.
They reiterated that Egbe Ajosepo Fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa is fully ready to facilitate the emergence of an indigene of any of the marginalized zones particularly oke ogun zone that suppose to produce their candidate as the next governor of Oyo State, irrespective of religious affiliation, place of origin, political allegiance or gender.
The Association emphasized that the alliance formed by the marginalized zones should not be regarded as a gang up against any zone but should be seen as a genuine call for equality, equity, fairness, justice and mutual respect, devoid of confrontation.
While fielding questions from newsmen, leaders of the association promised to embark on meaningful dialogue and serious sensitization to market the views of the association to the larger society and the whole world at large.
They stressed further that the association has engaged stakeholders, comprising traditional rulers, religious leaders and concerned individuals on a series of issues; ranging from political power brokers, voters inducement, divide and rule tactics among political office seekers.
The association admonished media personnel to project the image and agenda of the forum to the world with a view to achieving a desired goal.
They added that the oke ogun area from time to time has been playing a supportive role to cosmopolitan city; Ibadan, urging them to give the needed support to oke ogun zone come 2027.
