In an effort to inculcate proper hygiene among the female students in the state,the National Association of Women Journalists Oyo State Chapter has begun a sensitization programme in Girl Schools across the state
The sensitization Programme Pad A Girl which started at Saint Teresa Secondary school Molete Ibadan was part of activities lined up by OYO Nawoj towards improving personal hygiene among female students in the state.
Addressing the female students,the Chairperson Nawoj in the state,Comrade Omolola Alamu emphasized the importance of personal hygiene and the female students in the state
According to Number one female Journalists in Oyo state, the use of Sanitary Pads is important for female students so as to Keep them in good shape during their monthly circle.
Comrade Alamu explained that female children are special and adorable gifts from God hence the need for them to take their personal hygiene seriously and urged people to continue to accord them deserves respect on the society
“Using a sanitary pad during a monthly cycle is crucial for maintaining hygiene, preventing infections, and ensuring comfort by effectively absorbing menstrual blood, thus protecting clothing and promoting overall well-being, especially when considering the potential negative impacts of poor menstrual hygiene like discomfort, odor, and potential infections. it also allows women to participate fully in daily activities without disruption due to their period.” Alamu said
While corroborating the Nawoj Oyo Chairperson on the use of Sanitary Pads, the Nawoj Zonal Secretary South West Zone Comrade Adeola Adewole encourage the female students to ensure the use of their sanitary pads during their monthly circle.
Comrade Adewole who took time to sensitize the female students on the use of pad also told them to ensure to put a sanitary pads in their bags especially during the week of their month circle in order to minimizing the risk of bacterial infections associated with trapped moisture and blood on clothing or skin.
The management of the St Teresa Secondary school Molete Ibadan appreciated Oyo Nawoj for given priority attention to issues affecting females especially young girls in the state.
