A Prominent Islamic Cleric Sheikh Ismael Adekunle Gbamolada has tasked the government at all levels to positively engage the citizens towards nation building.
The cleric stated this during the Ramadan lecture organized by Adelabu Mandate Media Group and Penkelemesi Global Darlings held at Adelabu Foundation Jericho Ibadan.
Dwelling on the topic, “Role of Citizen in Good Governance Islamic Perspective”, Sheikh Ismael Gbamolada, said the task of improving the welfare of the people cannot be left in the hands of the government alone, hence the need for well-meaning Nigerians to assist the needy for the overall development of the country.
The Cleric also stressed that citizens engagement is a panacea for meaningful development in the country and reduced social vices.
“The current situation in the country is a reflection of the society, which calls for urgent attention. The leaders and followers have crucial roles to play towards building the nation”, Gbamolada said.
The Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Musbau urged muslims to continue their good deeds after the Ramadan period.
He appreciated the Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu for making a positive impact in the power sector.
In a chat with the coordinator of the the programme, Comrade Femi Awogboro said the programme was organized to sensitize the public and in particular the muslims on their expected roles towards the advancement of the country.
Comrade Awogboro said the Minister of Power is passionate about development of the country through the effective synergy between Governments and Citizens.
The Ramadan lecture was attended by the Personal Assistant to the Minister of Power, Hon Ajiboye Akande Aji, younger Brother of Former Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Alhaji SUMMY Adedib , Alhaji Chief Wasiu Ajimobi,Alhaji SUMMY Adedibu, Hon Wale Murphy, Former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Hon Faruq Arisekola- Alao, Mogaji Abass Oloko, Former APC Women leader Mrs Mabel Williams, Hon Chief Abiodun Gbolagade, Hon Saheed Oriowo, and Former Council Chairmen in Oyo state.
Others Included Islamic Clerics, APC Chieftains and Party Members across the state.
