Muslims have been charged to prioritize their family ties and nurture family relationships through mutual understanding and cordial interaction.
The admonition was part of the lecture delivered by the speaker, Sheikh Imam Muhideen Salmon, the grand chief Imam of Offa, at the 1st edition of the Annual Ramadan lecture and iftar, organized by the Alageere of Ago Are, His Royal Majesty Oba Alhaji Azeez Oyetunde Uthman JP.
The event, which was held under the auspices of the Okere of Sakiland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Khalid Olabisi Oyedepo III, also had the Olu of Igbo- Ora,Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye and other monarchs in attendance.
While speaking on the topic:’ Promoting Peace, Unity and Strong Family bonds in Islam’, Sheikh Muhideen Salmon said Allah prioritizes family bond in the holy Quran and loves whoever strengthens family ties.
He stressed that the importance of promoting family bond cannot be over emphasized.
Sheikh Muhideen Salmon noted that fostering friendly relationships among individuals and every member of one’s family through moral and financial support, empowerment, tolerance and forgiveness are essential responsibilities of a good muslim.
The cleric explained that promoting family bonds includes accommodating family members, holding regular family prayers and regular visitations are commendable attributes that all Muslims must imbibe.
He opined that life is transient as everything in this world has been ordained by God, saying no one knows tomorrow, hence the need for every family member not to undermine anyone.
He urged the wealthy individuals in each family to extend their hands of fellowship to the less privileged in their families.
While speaking on the essence of peaceful co- existence in the family cycle,the Islamic scholar admonished individuals to respect individual differences in the family and give attention to the counsels of the elders in their family.
In their separate remarks, the Okere of Sakiland, Olu of Igbo- Ora, Hon Alhaji Saheed Yusuf Alaran who represented Barrister Ahmed Raji SAN,Hon Joe Makanjuola Ayoola aka Makenson, Hon. Tijani Adam Opeyemi who represented Chairman Atisbo local government and INEC officer Atisbo local government Mr Sulaimon Azeez congratulated the Alageere of Ago-Are on the auspicious occasion.
They urged every member of the community to unite and partake in community activities with a view to achieving symbolic family and community bonds.
Oba Khalid Olabisi,Hon Makanjuola Ayoola, Alhaji Saheed Alaran admonished the people of the society to continue in the good spirit of Ramadan by making use of the lessons of Ramadan and abstain from every ungodly act after ramadan period.
Hon Saheed Alaran prayed Allah to give the Alageere of Ago are required enablement to organise more programme of such magnitude in years to come.
The Alageere of Ago are His Royal Majesty Oba Alhaji Azeez Oyetunde Uthman JP in his chat with newsmen appreciated the individuals present at the occasion.
He said the lecture delivered by the speaker is timely as it will go a long way to foster unity, love and peaceful co existence in Ago-Are town and beyond.
