In a striking display of generosity and people-centered leadership, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Kosofe Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, marked her birthday by giving back massively to her constituents.

Residents of Ogudu-Ojota and surrounding communities gathered in high spirits as Hon. Ogbara rolled out a free cooking gas refill initiative for all constituents—a timely gesture amid the prevailing economic realities. In addition, every beneficiary present received 5kg bags of rice and other essential household items, drawing cheers, songs of praise, and heartfelt prayers from the appreciative crowd.

The event, which transformed the heart of Ogudu-Ojota into a festival of goodwill and gratitude, reflected the lawmaker’s deep connection with her people and her unwavering commitment to improving their quality of life. Scores of women, men, and youths expressed their admiration for the lawmaker’s bold, selfless, and consistent support for grassroots development.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Ogbara radiated joy and humility. “One of the things that brings me the greatest happiness is knowing that I am a source of happiness to others,” she said. “Today, as I celebrate life, I choose to share that joy with the people who gave me their trust. This is your celebration as much as mine.”

The atmosphere was electric with emotion as constituents offered prayers for her long life, continued strength, and elevation. Community leaders and residents alike described her as “the pride of Kosofe,” and “a leader with a mother’s heart.”

The initiative is the latest in Hon. Ogbara’s string of people-driven interventions, cementing her reputation as a servant-leader who not only legislates but lives the needs of her constituency.

In her closing remarks, the federal lawmaker also used the occasion to urge constituents and Nigerians at large to remain hopeful and support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. “The policies this government is putting in place are tough, but necessary,” she affirmed. “I believe strongly that they will yield good fruits in time, and Nigerians will be the better for it.”

The birthday outreach not only demonstrated Hon. Kafilat Ogbara’s commitment to social welfare but also set a powerful example of how public office can be used as a platform for compassion, empowerment, and impact.
