A Non governmental organization, George Aid Foundation in collaboration with Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro continues with monthly food distribution to the downtrodden in Ibadan metropolis.
For the month of April, hundreds of persons with disabilities under the Oyo State Agency for persons with disabilities Secretariat Ibadan were beneficiaries.
Flagging off the distribution of the food packs to the persons with disabilities ,the Director general of the Agency, Barrister Ayodele Adekanbi appreciated the gesture of the George Aid Foundation for keying into vision of Governor Seyi Makinde.
He called on well-meaning individuals to support the government in empowering of the people with disabilities.
Barrister Adekanbi added that the Agency have a database of persons with disabilities in the state hence the need to collaborate for a well meaning society.
Addressing the beneficiaries who are all Persons with disabilities, the president Rotary club of Ibadan, Jericho Metro Rotarian Salisu Afolabi said the support of George Aid foundation towards the programmes of Rotary club Jericho Metro is helping the needy in a long way.
He added that the distribution of food packs to persons with disabilities makes it up-to twenty different groups of downtrodden that have been catered for in Ibadan under two years.
In his own remarks the Special Assistance to Oyo State Governor on Education Chief Abiodun Tiamy stated that the gesture will help the persons with disabilities in taking them off the street as a beggar.
The hundreds of beneficiaries were selected from over twelve thousand person with disabilities in the state.
