Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has extended warm felicitations to His Eminence, Sheikh Abubakri Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Grand Imam of Oyo State, and Grand Patron of the League of Imams and Alfas of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, as he marks his 90th birthday.

As Chief Imam of Ibadanland and Grand Imam of Oyo State, he has fostered interfaith harmony, bridged divides, and championed the values of tolerance, justice, and communal progress. His role as Grand Patron of the League of Imams and Alfas across Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States underscores his dedication to unifying diverse communities under the shared principles of love, integrity, and service.
The Minister further eulogised the Chief Imam and described his legacy as transcending religious boundaries. “His advocacy for education, youth empowerment, and social welfare has illuminated pathways out of poverty and despair, empowering generations to thrive. In a nation where light—both literal and metaphorical—is essential, his life’s work mirrors the very mission of the power sector: to uplift, energize, and illuminate lives.
Adelabu said the teachings of Sheikh Agbotomokekere remind, “us that true power lies not in authority alone but in the ability to ignite hope, sustain progress, and light the way for others.
