Indigenes of Ago Aare, home and abroad have been charged to extol good virtues of moral uprightness, humility, kindness, love and compassion as exemplified by the late Aare of Ago-Are, Oba Jubril Oyesiji Oladoke Gbadewolu 1st during his lifetime. and also imbibe the spirit of togetherness and commitment for the overall development of the ancient town.
The remarks was part of the submissions made by various dignitaries who spoke at the tenth year remembrance of the late Aare of Ago-Aare, Oba Jubril Oyesiji Oladoke.
The epoch event, which was held at Ago Aare Town Hall under the auspices of the chairman ATISBO local government, Hon. Bashiru Alade, also had in attendance, Ago Aare indigenes home and abroad, palace chiefs,political stalwarts, religious leaders, families and friends of the monarch and other distinguished personalities from all walks of life.
While speaking on the theme, ‘The Future of Ago Aare Community:my Roles your Roles as Stakeholders’, guests testified to the good deeds of the late monarch.
The guest lecturer at the occasion, Hon Justice Kareem Adeyinka Adedokun who is also an illustrious son of Ago Aare, passionately saluted the uncommon attributes of Oba Oyesiji and described his reign as peaceful and full of unprecedented development.
Justice Adeyinka stressed that the humility, benevolence, calmness and worthy lifestyle of the late monarch is worthy of emulation.
While quoting a philosophical words of Cissero to end his lecture the speaker admonished the people of Ago are to imbibe holistic approach, inclusivity, social justice and participatory democracy towards rebranding the ancient town.
While commending the remarkable attributes of late Oba Oyesiji Oladoke Gbadewolu ,Former Commissioner for youth and sports, Hon Joe Makanjuola Ayoola Makenson,Former Commissioner for Works and Transport, Hon Prince Abdul Raheem Muslim Oyedemi, Alhaji Adedokun Adeniyi Ibrahim,Hon Ajewole Elisha Ajetola,Mr Omotosho Solomon Alhaji Chief Taye Arolu from Saki and Chairman Edu ruling house Ago Are, Prince Yisau Oyekola A.K.A Salamu alaikum, in their separate remarks said the late monarch left behind a legacy worthy of emulation.
They noted that Oba Jubril Oyesiji while alive was a visionary leader, a unifier and bridge builder whose reign recorded positive impacts across the ancient town.
The speakers stressed that the exemplary attitude and leadership acumen of the late monarch will surely be a reference point in the history of Ago Aare.
They urged the people of the society to take a queue from the memorable legacies of Oba Oyesiji Oladoke.
In his submissions, Chief Muslim Oyedemi admonished the current Are of Ago-Aare, Oba Michael Kofoworola Olakanla Abodunrin to translate his wealth of knowledge and experience into good governance of Ago Aare.
Chief Oyedemi urged the Aare of Ago Aare not to allow unscrupulous elements to hijack the governance of the land .
While speaking on behalf of all princes and princesses of the late monarch including Prince Taoheed Oladoke, Prince Isau Oladoke, Alhaji Prince Jubril Mutawakilu Oladoke, Princess Mutiat Salahudeen nee Oladoke and Princess Kudirat Okanlawon Opeloyeru appreciated the life well spent of their father, saying it will be difficult to fill the vacuum he left behind.
They stated that an endowment fund in honour of late Jubril Oladoke has been established to preserve his legacies.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of awards of excellence to recognize the outstanding achievements of some distinguished sons and daughters of Ago Aare during the reign of the late monarch.
The late Aare of Ago Aare Oba Jubril Oyesiji Oladoke Gbadewolu 1st reigned between 1976 and 2015.
