Tradesmen and Artisans in the 33 local governments of Oyo State has been urged to develop a grassroots committee that will look into its activities for proper coordination and opportunities.
The president of the Oyo State Tradesmen and Artisans association, Alhaji Yisau Kolayode Hamzat stated this at an annual general meeting held at the new office in Aliwo area of Ibadan.
Alhaji Yisau Kolayode added that tradesmen and Artisans are duly recognized by both the government and the law reason for being a group among the 12 cluster groups under the ministry of trade, industry, investment and Cooperatives.
He urged the representatives of the 33 local government tradesmen and artisans at the AGM to go back home and form a formidable local government committee.
At the AGM, the representatives of Industrial training Fund ITF Ibadan led by Mrs Lizzy Peters called on the Artisans to fashion a new way of training apprentice.
She noted that the present way of training young minded youth is not in line with new millennium way of achieving learning.
In her own remarks, one of the leaders of the Artisans Alhaja Abegbo Lawal informed the 33 local government representatives on opportunities that abound and the need to tap into it.
Tradesmen and Artisans association is an umbrella body for all artisans in the state.
