Relevant stakeholders gathered on Tuesday at Apaara Methodist Church Playing Ground in Oyo town for the Maiden Biennial Inter House Sport of Nation’s Pride Group of Schools, Tengba, Oyo.
The event, which featured series of sporting activities including the lightning ‘torch of unity” among representatives of the four participating houses , Adeniyi, Adegoke, Oyepeju and Salawudeen, provided a platform for pupils to showcase their talents, share lasting memories among themselves and also entertain the spectators.
Oyepeju House emerged champions at the end of the event with 242 points, Salawudeen House came second after pulling 231 points and Adeniyi House clinched third position with 210 Points .
Speaking on behalf of the school management, Mr. Odetunde Salawudeen, lauded the parents for investing in their children and support, accorded the school from the planning stage of the inter house sport.
He sought their continued support and cooperation as the school continues to deliver quality and impactful education.
He equally appreciated Mr.Akinyemi Salawudeen, Mrs. Musbau Rukayyat, Miss Tairat Olayanju, an old student of the school for their generous donations and others who contributed to the success of the inter house sport.
He said :” I must commend the parents of our pupils for embracing the inter house sport with the payment of sport wear, considering the economic situation in the country.
“ As I declare today’s event open on behalf of the management team, I urge the parents to keep supporting the school and the kids. For us, we will continue to uphold the required educational standard with a view to ensuring the pupils attain greater heights”
Highlights of the inter house sport were presentation of Trophy to the champions, Oyepeju House, prizes and gifts to outstanding individuals by Mr. Rasak Hammed, member of the Management team.
Others include the staff race won by Mrs. Ganiyat Hamzat while Rasheed Kaosarat and Tajudeen Hamsat emerged first in the old students race, girls, and boys respectively.
The next inter house sport of the school is expected to hold in 2027.
