As the celebration of this year Eid ul Adha is gradually rounding off,the Management of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State in collaboration with Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland Chief Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke has empowered Hundreds of widows with cash
The programme held at BCOS RATTAWU Hall had in attendance Muslims community Markets leaders Philanthropists and Non Governmental Organizations.
In his lecture titled plight of widows in Nigeria,An Islamic Scholar Sheikh Habeeblah Buhari said widows in Nigeria are facing series of challenges hence the need for well meaning Nigerians to always assist them through empowerment to reduce poverty in the state.
In their remarks,the chairman of the occasion Chief Adebayo Oyero,Maye Olubadan Chief Lekan Alabi,BabaSale Musulumi of Ibadanland, Alhaji Nureni Akanbi, Woman Leader South west PDP Alhaja Modinat Adedibu and Babaloja General of Oyo State Alh Yekeen Abass commended BCOS management and chief Adegboyega Adegoke for remembering widows at this crucial time.
While presenting the cash to the widows Chief Adegboyega Adegoke flanked by his wife Chief Yetunde Adegoke said the task of assisting the needy especially widows should not be left in hands of government alone hence the need for well meaning Nigerians to continue to give priority attention to the widow.
He assured BCOS of more collaboration in its lofty programmes aimed at reducing poverty in the state.
Earlier in her welcome address the Chairman BCOS Mrs Dotun Olaitan pledged the corporation’s commitment towards partnering with well meaning Nigerians to reduce poverty in the state.
The Chairman of the BCOS ileya Get together Empowerment program for widows Alhaji Kola Carew appreciated the management of the corporation for giving necessary support for the committee.
