Traders and Artisans in Oyo state have commended Governor Seyi Makinde led Administration for his laudable projects going on in every nook and cranny of the state.
They made the commendation during the Unification Congress of Traders, Artisans Leaders and Members in Oyo state held at House chiefs, Parliament building secretariat Ibadan.
The Unification Congress was an initiative of Market leaders in oyo state in collaboration with Babaloja in General Alhaji Yekeen Abass.
Some market leaders who spoke at the Unification Congress including Chief Mrs Labeke Lawal, Alhaja Saudat Owolabi representing Iyadunni, Mogaji Salaudeen Kamorudeen and Alhaji Dauda Oladepo commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his giant strides towards bringing much needed development to the state.
They also reaffirmed their readiness to restore peace among Artisans and traders for the advancement of the state.
In his welcome address Alhaji Yisau Hamzat charged market leaders and members to continue to work harmoniously in the interest of peace.
In his address the Babaloja General in the state, Alhaji Yekeen Abass reiterated the commitment of Traders and Artisans by collaborating with the government in boosting the economy of the state.
Alhaji Abass urged the state government to hasten up the process of financial support and inauguration of market leaders council so as to foster unity among the Traders and Artisans in Oyo State.
” The unification Congress of Traders and Artisans, was organized to solidify the oneness of the association.This was also an attestation to Governor Seyi Makinde that Traders and Artisans in the state are now united. Therefore we urged the government to give more priority to Traders and Artisans through financial support and government intervention.” Abass said
The Unification Congress of Traders and Artisans is expected to fast track meaning development to the association.
In the meantime,The Babaloja General of Oyo state Alhaji Yekeen Abass has declared closure of Markers in Ibadan from 5 O clock in morning till 12noon tomorrow Friday 8th August in honour of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Owolabi Olakuleyin.
