Political leaders have been charged to learn from the influence and impactful life lived by the former Oyo State APC Chairman, late Chief Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu.
Late Omodewu, according to his political associates,was indeed a voice to reckon with due to his experience and ingenuity when it comes to political affairs.
These were some of the remarks made by dignitaries who graced the occasion of a year remembrance of late Chief Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu.
The event, which could be described as gathering of political Bigwigs, had in attendance traditional rulers, religious leaders as well as family and friends of late Chief Omodewu.
The remembrance service, held at the field of Baptist Primary School Otu, was a moment of sober reflection on the legacies of late Chief Omodewu.
In their separate tributes, a Former Head of Service in Oyo State, Chief Mrs Hannah Wumi Ogunesan, the Principal, Baptist Grammar School Otu,Rev Dr Julius Oladele Eegunsola, the National President, Otu Community Development Association, Chief Johnson Bayo Kehinde of Jaybee Ventures, the Secretary, Oyo State APC; Alhaji Olanite Tajudeen and APC chieftain Barrister Leke Oladeji, extolled the remarkable attributes of Late Chief Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, most especially his uncommon character, philanthropic gestures and leadership attributes as an elder state man.
The guests, who took turns to reflect on their relationship with the deceased, described his demise as a colossal loss to the Otu community and APC family as a whole.
They prayed for the repose of his soul.
Chief Bayo Kehinde said the Omodewu dynasty was very instrumental to the educational development of Otu town and Oke Ogun region as a whole.
Therefore, he admonished all Late Omodewu’s political allies in APC to sustain the legacy laid by their late colleague.
In their good will messages,APC chairman in Itesiwaju Local Government, Hon. Segun Oyewole, a member from Ward 8, Salami Waheed Adeyemi a k a Agbede, the Aare Amuludun of Otu, Chief Ojelowo Taiwo Thomas and a brother to Chief Omodewu, Mr Joseph Kolapo Omodewu, applauded the leadership style of the deceased within his family, in the community and among APC members, both at the local and state levels.
They stressed that late Chief Omodewu’s impeccable character and remarkable impacts in APC speak volume after his demise.
The dignitaries urged leaders in political realm to take a cue from the good deeds of late Chief Omodewu.
They opined that late Chief Omodewu during his life time worked with the fear of God and led an exemplary life as a leader of high repute.
The event also featured the presentation of awards of grants to outstanding students under the auspices of Omodewu Foundation in support of their educational advancement.
In attendance at the programme were the Onibise of Otu who hosted the Olokaka of Okaka,Oluigbo of Igbojaye, Eleyinpo of Ipapo,Onisia of Iwoye Otu, former commissioner for works and transport Hon Dauda Wasiu Azuzu, President, Oke- Ogun Baptist Conference, Rev Dr Gabriel Olanrewaju, Former APC Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Arikeuyo Abdul rasak, former chairman Iseyin local council Alhaji Saheed Yusuf Alaran,Rev Dr Oyeleke Bolaji,Hon Salami Ganiyu,Chief Itiade Odeyemi and Rev. Dr M O Olabiyi of the First Baptist Church Otu, among others.
