The Igbo-Elerin Grammar school old students Association has changed the baton of administration that has been padding the canoe of the alumni association for some months as care taker committee.
The house 18 , Bashorun Apanpa way, Jericho GRA IBADAN was filled with delegates from various sets to elect new officers of the association for the next two years.
The voting exercise was supervised by respected Elders of the association. Which include, Venerable Moses Olalere Popoola, 1969 set, Venerable Lasun Makinde, 1969 set and Elder Moses Gbade Ojo, 1972 set.
The election commenced and ended in a free, fair and peaceful atmosphere.
At the end of the exercise,
Engineer Sunday Gbenjo, of the 1983 set emerged the President, while Alhaji Remi Owolabi, of the 1980 set was elected as the Vice president,
Mr Debo Soladoye of the1984 set became the General secretary, as Mrs Ogundare Janet Olufunmilola, a former principal of the school and of the 1979 set became The Financial Secretary.
The responsibility of the Treasurer fell on Mrs Emiola-Sadiq Agnes of the 1977 set while the position of the Welfare Officer, went to Mr Ogunrinola Segun of the 1978 set.
The new Public Relations Officer, of the association is Mrs Adediran Christianah Adeola of the 2000 set.
While the responsibility of Assistant General Secretary also fell on Mr Bogunbe Adekunle Abass of the 1987 set.
In his acceptance speech the Newly elected President Engr Sunday Gbenjo asuured the members of his readiness to take Igbo Elerin Grammar School and the association to the next level of development.
Other speakers at the event which include Mr Gbade Ojo, Professor Hassan Taiwo Fashina urged the new executives to expidite actions on the provision of computer facilities for the school in line with WAEC recommendation, while the association should embark on membership drive and also showcase some the facilities available in the school.
