Former Oyo lawmaker and Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, Hon.Kolade Olagunju has sought harmonious relationships among stakeholders and members of the party ahead of 2027 general elections.
In a statement made available to Journalists in Ibadan, Hon Kolade Olagunju said the ward congresses held across the 352 Political wards in Oyo state is an effort towards having formidable and stronger executives at ward levels whose primary objective is to ensure unity within their party.
According to him, the priority of the ward executives should be on how to extend existing peace among members and relevant stakeholders at the political wards so as to ensure victory in the 2027 general elections.
“I am glad for the peaceful conduct of the ward congresses in some wards while urging some Stakeholders to eschew violence in order to have a united umbrella fold in the forthcoming elections.This is the only way to strengthen our party’s dominance at the wards, state Constituencies, Local government areas, federal Constituencies, Senatorial District and the state at large”
“Let’s also thank God for giving us a charismatic and visionary Man as the Governor of Oyo state in person of Engr Seyi Makinde, who has championed good governance through people-oriented projects in every nook and cranny of Oyo state.” Olagunju said.
Hon. Olagunju while congratulating the newly elected ward executives, urged them to see their appointments as a call to serve and ensure oneness of party members.
The former lawmaker also pledged his continuous support for the leadership of the wards in Akinyele local government for the smooth running of Party activities and mobilization of members towards the preparation for the 2027 general elections.
