The Office of the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has dismissed insinuations that his recent consultative visits across Oyo State were politically motivated, describing such claims as a reflection of the unrest and discomfort of political detractors.
In a statement issued by one of his aides, Comrade Femi Awogboro, the Minister’s engagements were clarified to be reconciliatory and unifying efforts within the All Progressives Congress (APC), not political campaigns.
“Chief Adelabu’s consultations were purely to strengthen the APC family across the state, promote unity, and listen to the concerns of party members. No campaign messages or solicitations were made during these meetings,” Awogboro stated.
He explained that the Minister’s visits to Ogbomoso, Oyo, Oke-Ogun, and Ibarapa zones were part of his ongoing commitment to build internal harmony within the party and to update stakeholders on his performance as Minister of Power.
“Those who misread the intent of these visits are simply unsettled by the positive response and wide acceptance Chief Adelabu enjoys across Oyo State,” he added.
Awogboro reaffirmed that Chief Adelabu remains focused on promoting party unity, transparency in governance, and improved electricity delivery nationwide, noting that his style of inclusive leadership should be commended, not misrepresented.
