The Elekuro Development Association in Ibadan South East, Oyo State, has recognized the selfless contributions of Hon. Hamzat Wasiu Olanrewaju, a philanthropist and politician, to his community.
Hamzat was among a few individuals honored at a recent ceremony in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
In an interview with journalists, Hamzat expressed gratitude to God for making him worthy of the award and appreciated the community for acknowledging his efforts.
“This award will spur me to do more for the Elekuro community, Opejegilowo, Ibadan South East Constituency 1, and the local government at large,” he said.
Hamzat pledged his continued support for the advancement of Ibadan South East Constituency 1, emphasizing the need for collective action to drive development.
“The task of making Ibadan South East local government conducive cannot be left to the government alone. We must contribute meaningfully to progress our areas,” he stressed.
He urged citizens to participate in the ongoing voters’ registration, enabling them to shape the future of their community and participate in the 2027 general elections.
“It’s time to work collectively to fast-track meaningful development through empowerment and wealth creation,” Hamzat added.
