Renowned broadcaster and philanthropist Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat has officially joined the Accord Party and announced his bid for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
Hamzat made the declaration at a grand event, pledging to serve the people of Oyo State through meaningful programmes .
“I am not doing this for anyone, but for my political aspiration,” Hamzat said in his acceptance speech.With the support of the people, I am determined to contest for the number one seat in Oyo State and committed to serving the people through impactful initiatives .”
Hamzat urged supporters to join him in Accord, emphasizing that the “Oyo Npe oo” movement has officially merged with Accord to pursue his governorship dreams .
The event was marked by a mass defection of political bigwigs from 33 local governments and 351 wards across the state to Accord .
With Hamzat’s entry, Accord is gearing up for a strong showing in the 2027 governorship polls .
The party is banking on his popularity as a broadcaster and philanthropist to drive its fortunes in Oyo State .
