•••Praises Makinde’s Ally, Otunba Seye Famojuro, for Fostering Unity Among Leaders

Oluyole Local Government was filled with excitement as the Chairman, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, officially commissioned the newly renovated Oluyole Multipurpose Hall, an event that symbolised renewed unity among political leaders in the council area.

The Commissioner for Works, Hon. Mogbonjubola Abdul Mojeed, who also served as Chairman of the Day, led other dignitaries to the colourful ceremony, while the Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for the Control of AIDS (OYSACA), Dr. Gbola Adetunji, attended as the Special Guest of Honour.

Speaking at the event, Olatunji who specially praised Governor Seyi Makinde for the good governance in the state and greeted all dignitaries present, also acknowledged Governor Makinde’s close ally, Otunba Seye Famojuro, praising him for fostering unity among PDP leaders in Oluyole Local Government.

He noted that the large turnout of leaders demonstrated that Oluyole has moved beyond past differences.

“Oluyole is one. No matter our differences, we are still united. It is better to resolve our disagreements in love within the government than to fight outside.”

He stressed that with the new Electoral Act, only those lacking wisdom would engage in unnecessary political conflict.

“I and the entire Oluyole team are one family. If you have any issue with me, I am open — come and meet me. Your concerns can never cause conflict among us.”

The Chairman disclosed that the foundation for a veterinary hospital is ongoing within the council, while four bridge construction projects and traditional council hall(new mapo) are currently underway across the local government area.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the commissioning, Olatunji explained that the renovated multipurpose hall would serve residents for social, political, and community activities, while also boosting the internally generated revenue of the local government.

“This hall belongs to the people of Oluyole. It will host various events and engagements, and through that, it will increase the revenue base of the local government.”

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Works, Hon. Mogbonjubola Abdul Mojeed, declared that there is no conflict again among the leaders. He urged betrayers and critics to desist from actions capable of causing division, expressing his message through a symbolic song that emphasized unity and reconciliation.

Dr. Gbola Adetunji, the Special Guest of Honour and Chairman of OYSACA, described the day as historic, stating that leaders in Oluyole are now united. He commended Olatunji’s developmental strides and inclusive leadership.

Former Chairman, Hon. Popoola Olaide Settle, described Olatunji as his elder brother and worthy successor, affirming that he is doing well and stressing that there is no more conflict among them.

Hon. Waheed Akintayo, Honourable Member representing Oluyole State Constituency, stated that Olatunji has been doing marvelously well with impactful projects and assured continuous legislative support.

Speaking on behalf of religious leaders, the Chief Imam of Oluyole, Alhaji Imam Taliat Azeez, urged leaders not to allow political followers to create disagreement among them again. He advised that whenever anyone speaks negatively about one leader to another, the response should be: “Can I call the person in your presence so you can repeat what you said?” to prevent gossip and unnecessary conflict.

Chief Kabiru Olajide, Baale Ayegun Oleyo, who represented the monarchs, expressed joy that unity has been restored among political leaders and traditional rulers. Alhaja Lola, Chairman of the National Council for Women Society (NCWS), also charged the leaders to remain united and sustain the peaceful atmosphere currently being witnessed in Oluyole.

The event was rounded off with thanksgiving delivered by the Vice Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Hon. Niyi Akorede.

The commissioning ceremony was graced by Dr. Gbola Adetunji, Chairman of OYSACA, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, and Hon. Mogbonjubola Abdul Mojeed, Commissioner for Works; Hon. Waheed Akintayo, Honourable Member representing Oluyole State Constituency; Hon.
