Former Member of Oyo State House of Assembly Hon. Kolade Olagunju has urged Muslim faithful to remember the needy during and after the holy month of Ramadan.

Hon. Kolade in his Ramadan message made available to journalists congratulates Muslim ummar in Oyo state especially in Akinyele-Lagelu Federal Constituency for witnessing this year’s holy month.

According to him, Fasting rejuvenates the concept of social solidarity among the community, hence the need for Muslims to spread the love and assist the needy as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

“All fasting Muslims share the same pain, hunger, thirst and bitterness of deprivation while fasting with the poor and the needy. Ramadan creates a social and humanitarian context that fosters compassion for the needy around the world”.

“The poor people rejoice with their wealthy brothers who are sharing their pain and suffering with them. They rejoice at the thought that their wealthy brothers help them to ward off the scourge of hunger and bitter deprivation” Olagunju said.

The former lawmaker also charged the Muslims faithful not to forget Nigeria and Oyo State in their respective prayers.

Hon. Olagunju prayed to Allah to give us the grace to complete the fast with ease.
