The remains of the late Oloto of Ofiki His Majesty Oba Sunday Oyedokun Adeoye, JP,Tella 111,Gbadewolu 1 was on Saturday committed to mother earth as dignitaries from all walks of life converged on the First Baptist Church Ofiki, ATISBO Local Government Area to pay last respect and tribute to the departed soul.
The remains of the late Oloto, who was also a military veteran, was covered with national flag with army boot, carried by men of guard of the Nigerian Army into the church, in recognition of his service to the nation.
The epoch event featured several prominent men of God, political stalwarts, traditional rulers, captains of industry and sons and daughters of Ofiki at home and abroad.
Rev Dr Timothy Olawuwo from Okeho While speaking on behalf of the National CAN President, Rev Dr Israel Akanji and CAN Chairman in Oke- ogun, Rev Dr Gabriel Olanrewaju, Rev. Dr. Timothy Olawuwo said death is inevitable and as such, people should always think of eternity as life is temporal.
Rev. Olawuwo, who spoke on the theme: ‘The Love of Christ to Mankind ‘, stressed that any position man may occupy in life is transient, hence the need for people to always give their best.
He reiterated that it is imperative for the people of the society to love God with their hearts and souls and desist from ungodly acts.
Rev Dr Timothy emphasised that great things cannot be achieved by mediocre.
He charged everyone present at the event to increase their faith in Jesus and think of eternity.
Rev Dr Timothy in his condolence message to the family and friends of the deceased, urged them to emulate the life style of Oba Sunday Oyedokun Adeoye JP whom he described as a believer, worthy of emulation.
In their separate goodwill messages,the host who doubles as the Executive Chairman of ATISBO Local Government Area, Hon. Bashir Muyiwa Alade, Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperative Society; Hon Adeniyi Adebisi, the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Legislative Matters, Hon Samuel Adejumobi Agbarapo, Chief Atilola Babatunde Robert,Baba Banimore from Ofiki,son of the Asiwaju of Ofiki land Chief S A Adekola who is also the PS/TG TESCOM Zonal Office, Saki; Mr Adekola Adewuyi Adeyemi, eulogized late Oba Adeoye for his remarkable legacies.
The guests emphasized that the late Oloto was a man of honour and epitome of humility who carved his name in gold in the history of ofiki land.
According to them,Oba Sunday Oyedokun Adeoye JP was instrumental to the development of Ofiki in all ramifications and had brought honour and glamour to the traditional institution.
They said the late Oloto will be greatly missed and be remembered for his unblemish records as a man of God with principle.
They urged the Oloto ruling dynasty to embrace peace and love and seek for God’s intervention in the selection process for a new Oloto of Ofiki.
Among the dignitaries present at the occasion were the Odofin of Saki land Chief Isaac Koleosho, Chief Amoo Oladejo, Chief Jimoh Olori, Chief Sunday Oyewole Folydak and Mr Amos Oladokun.
The event was also attended by several traditional rulers, including the Oloto of Ago-Are,Onibaasi of Baasi,Onisabe of Sabe and Onitede of Tede.
