The second term of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration tagged Omituntun 2.0 has been adjudge by many residents of Oyo State as unprecedented in the history of the state.
Perhaps the reason is because the government confronted a plethora of challenges in Omituntun 1.0 ranging from the COVID-19 pandemic, shortfall in federal allocation, decrease in Internally Generated Revenue and other unforeseen circumstances.
Despite this, the Makinde administration appointed people of impeccable character with experiences to handle key sectors and agencies of government to drive the economy of Oyo State and realise its developmental aspirations.
Among the appointees is Dr. Akin Fagbemi. Dr. Fagbemi, who was privileged to chair the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) in the Omituntun 1.0 now presides over the board of the Oyo State Hospitals Management Board. There is no doubting the fact his impressive track record of performance in OYRTMA earned him the new role.
In the last 12 months, Dr Fagbemi has effectively propagated the Makinde administration’s health policy aimed at bringing the desired development to the sector, particularly state hospitals across the pacesetter state.
Some of his various contributions to the health sector are strategically hinged on productivity, staff welfare, human capital development, facilitation of infrastructure, among others to the human and material resources of the government institutions under his watch.
His first year in the saddle has been nothing short of impact, coordination of the delivery of qualitative health services to the people and all-round progress of the sector.
Dr Fagbemi’s remarkable impact has positively affected the health sector and key into the four cardinal programmes of Seyi Makinde led administration
As he enters the second year of his stewardship as the Chairman, Oyo State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Fagbemi looks forward to do so much more to deliver on Governor Makinde’s campaign promises in Omituntun 2.0.
