Former Member of Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon Kolade Olagunju has commended Oyo state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Security Agents across the state over peaceful conduct of the Ibadan North Federal Constituency By-Election.
Hon Olagunju gave the commendation while reacting to the just concluded By-Election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
According to him, the peaceful conduct of the exercise was a clear demonstration of the readiness of security agents and INEC to conduct free, fair and credible poll in 2027, which Nigerians will be proud of.
He noted that, if the voting exercise is transparent and adequate security is provided for electorate, it will add more value to electoral processes in Nigeria and further strengthen Nigeria’s nascent democracy.
The former lawmaker equally commended Governor Makinde for giving good governance to the people through provision of basic and infrastructural amenities that necessitated the overwhelming victory recorded by Hon Folajimi Oyekunle in the Ibadan North By-Election poll.
Hon Kolade Olagunju urged the Honourable Member-Elect to act very fast within shortest possible time to facilitate meaningful development to his Constituency through adequate representation at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
While acknowledging the role of notable people who served as Supervisors for the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon Olagunju thanked the good people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency for voting PDP candidate, Hon Folajimi Oyekunle to represent them at the House of representatives, Abuja.
“No doubt the just concluded Ibadan North Federal Constituency By-Election is a result of team work from PDP members to the Stakeholders and the constituents for their strong belief in PDP government in Oyo state.The only way to reciprocate the gesture is by providing good governance and adequate representation.” Olagunju said.
Hon Olagunju wished Hon Oyekunle a successful and remarkable tenure at the House of representatives.
