Former Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Ministry Information Chapel, Comrade Abiodun Atilola has picked the nomination form to contest for the Vice Chairmanship post of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council.
In a statement issued and signed by the Director General, Abiodun Atilola for Vice Chairman, Oyo NUJ, also a former Secretary State Information Chapel, Comrade Sunday Ogundare which was made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital said Abiodun Atilola is an experienced unionist that will use his wealth of experience to take Oyo NUJ to the greater heights.
The statement said in pushing for union leadership position like NUJ, experience counts a lot to move the union forward.
He wondered why somebody who has led one of the oldest chapels of Oyo NUJ like the State Information Chapel (as Secretary and Chairman) respectively, and current Financial Secretary of the Union with unblemished track records would not understand what next to do as the Vice Chairman of NUJ, Oyo State Council.
The statement reads in part “we are lucky to have somebody like Abiodun Atilola as Vice Chairmanship candidate in the Oyo NUJ elections. It is all about experience and wherewithal to deliver to the members of the pen profession. NUJ was established in 1955 to protect and provide welfare for its members which Abiodun Atilola is pursuing at all time“
The statement continued “you can’t give what you don’t have, it is not about being nice, it is not about being generous, what you don’t have, you simply don’t have it, no two ways to it, there is no doubt about it that Great Minds Group under the leadership of Comrade Akeem Abass will deliver beyond expectations in terms of Professionalism, Welfare, Quality Leadership and Administrative Prowess”.
Surveyor Olusoji Adeoye, who is the Surveyor General of Oyo State and a Senior Member, Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Oyo State Branch, said it is like Abiodun Atilola has a Midas Touch in his hands, whatever he touches, prospers, I can vouch for him, he would not disappoint Journalists in Oyo State.
