PDP National Convention: Lana congratulates Turaki, Arapaja, other national officers
…lauds Makinde’s leadership
A member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Barrister Michael Lana, has congratulated Barrister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki on his election as the new National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Lana who is the Leader of Lana Fun Seyi Group, in a statement he personally signed and made available in Ibadan, also congratulated Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, the new National Secretary and other national officers elected at the PDP National Convention held in Ibadan at the weekend.
He commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his resilient leadership throughout the struggle which he said has endeared him to all and sundry as a new vibrant face in the search for a new President for the country.
While saluting other PDP governors for relentlessly standing by Governor Makinde and the party in its troubled moments, Lana specially lauded all sons and daughters of Ibadanland for hosting the convention the first of its kind in Ibadan.
According to him, with the national convention the party has succeeded in sending packing those he described as hell bent in their plan to kill the party and ensure only one party exist in the country, urging the new leadership led by Barrister Turaki to be focused in rebuilding the party and return it to its enviable status.
“My sincere appeal to the new leadership of our great party led by Barrister Turaki is to do everything humanly possible to rebuild the party since those who want to kill it have been expelled and especially now that Nigerians have now seen that they were fooled by mere propaganda to deviate from the development strides of the PDP”, he said.
He said based on the Yoruba adage that if a wife has not tasted two husbands she would not know which is better Nigerians have tasted the hardship, tears and sorrow of those who promised change, stating that they are now yearning to return back to the glorious and very prosperous years of the PDP.
Lana said as the father of all the new leadership should endeavor to reach out and settle all the internal disputes within the party and bring everyone on board, noting that the umbrella is big enough to accommodate all.
