The Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has withdrawn all police officers attached to former Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello.
It was reported that the Federal Government placed Bello on watchlist following a request from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The former governor is facing a 19-count charge of alleged money laundering to the tune of N80.2bn.
The anti-graft agency, on Thursday, declared Yahaya Bello wanted.
The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) had also placed the former governor on its watchlist following a request from the EFCC.
However, in a police message, Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Egbetokun, ordered the withdrawal of policemen attached to the fleeing former governor.
