Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Gbenga Ogunbote, said his side will try as much as possible to make judicious use of the break in the NFPL in order to maintain their current form.
The organisers of the Nigerian topflight, has suspended the season for a month, to allow Rivers United FC complete their outstanding games as the season gets to its closing stages.
Speaking on the effect the break might likely have on his team, considering it’s current blistering form, the Oracle, as the gaffer is fondly called, though wished there wasn’t any break at this period, believe they can still work out something to keep the form.
“I think it has to do with every team, except those teams that have outstanding matches with Rivers United.
“Honestly with the form we are right now, I wish there was no break until the end of the season, but be it as it may, we will try as much as we can to manage the situation.
“You know players, being who they are, it’s like when you attend school without examination, your reading will be minimal, but we will try our best to see that we put ourselves in match form, assured thev ex Lobi Stars, Remo Stars and Sunshine Stars’ sweat merchant.
The Oluyole Warriors have been impressive since the start of the second half, garnering 24 points from the possible 35, having won eight, drew two and lost three matches, scoring 17 goals and conceded six.
The team is currently placed fourth on the log with 52 points from 32 games, just five points behind the league leaders, Rangers International, with six matches left to conclude the season.
