The Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu, has expressed his satisfaction with the Conducts of CBT Exams for Students Seeking Admission into Science Schools and placement/screening examination in all the schools he visited.
The commissioner, who led the management team of the ministry to monitor the examinations within Ibadan metropolis, said the examinations were seamless.
He noted that the reports he was getting from officials of the ministry who also monitored the exam conduct across the state, showed that it was a hitch free exercise.
He commended the examination officials of the ministry, other stakeholders’ as well as the management of schools for their support and cooperation towards the success of the said examinations, held across the state.
The commissioner restated the commitment of the State Government to put an end to out of school children in the state.
He admonished the parents to allow every school child’s age to enroll in government schools.
Adelabu also reaffirmed the commitment of His Excellency, Gov Seyi Makinde, to sustain the free education policy at basic and secondary schools’ level in the state.
He said: “The examination is going smoothly, and it’s seamless in the few schools I’ve been to since morning, this would be the fifth school that has been inspected.
“The environment, the serenity is very okay, and the turnout is equally good. We have a few absentees in one or two, three schools visited, and I would probably want to know why they are not in the examination. If they are not relocating from the state, they must show up in their various schools because we would rather not tolerate or allow out-of-school children.
‘We equally want to encourage the parents to allow every school child’s age to enroll in our public schools. We have enough teachers, and we are working on our schools. It’s a roadmap to sustainable development. We don’t want a situation where these students will be truncated right from the youthful age.
The monitoring team includes the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Christiana Bolaji, the Directors and Deputy Directors from the Ministry.
