A lawmaker representing Atiba state constituency Hon Gbenga Oyekola has urged Governor Seyi Makinde to pay more priority attention to Oyo Zone by resuscitating all abandoned projects in the Zone
The lawmaker made the call during his remarks at the presentation of the 2025 budget proposal of 678.1 Billion Naira by Governor Seyi Makinde
According to Hon Oyekola, the LAUTECH Hospital Oyo Annex, Awe Farm Silo and Atiba FM have been abandoned for 14 and 11 years respectfully thereby wasting the resources and funds of the state government.
The lawmaker who spoke on behalf of the other two state lawmakers in Oyo Zone explained that abandoned projects are crucial to the health sector, Agribusiness and fostering community relations in the Zone.
While appreciating the Governor for the laudable projects in Oyo Zone such as Fasola Farm settlement,Oyo- Iseyin road and others,Hon Oyekola said the achievement of this present administration will stand the test of time.
On the Issue of traditional rulers in Oyo Zone,Hon Gbenga Oyekola lauded the Seyi Makinde led administration for giving approval for the appointment of the 12 newly crowned Obas urging the Governor to expedite actions on the appointment and installation of the new Alaafin of Oyo.
The lawmaker also salutes the courage, and commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde towards the education sector in the Zone to reopen some secondary schools closed down for many years in the Zone.
Hon Gbenga Oyekola therefore charged the people of the Zone and Oyo State in general to continue to support the state government in its quest to bring much needed development to the state.
